Radial Drilling Machine from SKF
German customer SKF Blohm & Voss chose to let Bast & Co do a complete overhaul of their 1956 Radial Drilling Machine, instead of investing in a new machine.
After arrival of machine, it was completely disassembled, and all parts were cleaned.
Base plate was planed our MAS combined milling and planing machine, for achieving a smooth and straight surface. Afterwards base plate was painted in colurs chosen by customer.
Radial beam was also grinded on all bed ways, this was grinded inside a tolerance of 0,01 mm over a distance of 2 meters. After grinding proces, parts was also fresh painted.
Column was grinded in our 4000×650 mm cylindrical grinder, inside a tolerance of 0,02 mm. Afterwards, it was repostioned on base plate.
Beam was then installed and finally main spindel including gear box was installed and aligned.
Before final approval a new central lubrication sytem was installed, and old cables and hydraulic hoses were replaced.
