Bast & Co. are in the process of a complete overhaul of an Okuma LB45 lathe.

Upon arrival at our factory, we have separated the machine and has now started with the renovation of

the machine.

Over the next week we will get through the following points:

X-axis and Z-axis:

• Straightening and grinding of bedways
• Replacement of coating on the sledges, wedges and back plate. 
• Replacement of ball screw, bearings, seals, lubrication, scraper and strap.
• Reconditioning of the engine. 

Tool Turret:

• Dismantling the turret, gear, motor and strap. 
• Grinding of the turret. 
• Reconditioning of the engine. 

Repair of tailstock:

• Dismantling the tailstock, tailtube.
• Grinding and chrome up of tailtube. 
• Scraping of the coating.
• Replacement of the coating on the sled, control part and the wedges

Repair of the main spindle:

• Disassembling the center cartridge, pulling force cylinder,main spindle and gear box.
• Disassembling of the spindle and gear box. 
• Replacement of straps
• Adjustment and alignment of the spindle direction.
